LISD JJAEP, DAEP, Suspensions by School

Lewisville ISD Notes
Posted by WhosPlayin on 2010/6/3 22:40:00 (2734 reads)

Open in new windowI've been plowing through this data I received today from LISD regarding district-wide discipline incidents for the 2009/2010 school year (Through April 19th).

First up is a little report showing total number of incidents logged by school. Schools are listed in descending order by number of incidents. Total number of JJAEP placements, DAEP Placements, and Suspensions, Placements per 1000, as well as number of days ordered are shown. Note that some records have been redacted, so some cases may have assigned JJAEP, but were not revealed to us.

Note that there seem to be some pretty significant differences in the amount of incident logging, and in the use of JJAEP versus DAEP or suspension in the different campuses. Population counts are from 2009 TEA data.

Stephen, there are so many numbers it is hard to really understand! lol I am sure there is alot though that go un reported. Will you break it down by type's of incidents as well? That is alot of work!

Re: LISD JJAEP, DAEP, Suspensions by School
So true. There are so many campuses in LISD.

Yes, I'm working on a report comparing campuses by incident type, and I think I'll have to do that one as 3 reports - one for high schools, one for middle schools, and one for elementary schools.

The most important numbers to look at are the "per 1,000" numbers. These give you a population-adjusted number that you can compare from school-to-school.
