Open in new windowOpen in new windowWell, this rain has been nice to have, even if it has meant staying indoors. As of Friday, before the Corps of Engineers website went down, the lake was at 521.26 ft, about 9 inches below conservation pool.

This morning, I'm going to take my pets to get their rabies shots. Wouldn't you know it, but somehow the cat knows what is going on, because she is hiding. And that's why I'm taking the time now to post this.

Filing ended Friday in the May 29th primary election. We'll bring you a list of who is running, but we'll say that the only contested race for Denton County local races on the Democratic side is the race for party chair between Phyllis Wolper and John McClelland. I like both of them.

I'll be darned. I agree with Pat Robertson on something. It's time to legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana, putting many criminal enterprises out of business.

Under attack in Texas, Planned Parenthood is fighting back. I don't know whether to call it ironic or just sad that these misguided and ignorant actions by so-called "pro-life" extremists will actually not take a dime away from abortion funding (not paid for by government dollars) but will cause needless death, suffering, and probably more abortions.

I'm tired of going after Congressman Michael Burgess for his idiotic views on lightbulbs, and statements that PolitiFact has rated mostly false. So I'm glad this guy did it.

Just in case you're somehow inclined to believe Myra Crownover's lie about the state increasing education funding (which it did not), Texas Tribune has a data feature showing how many employees each school district had to lay off or otherwise shed from last fiscal year to this one.
