|Mi Won BrownThe Brown Piano Studio in Lewisville is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Pianist Mi Won Brown and her husband, composer Timothy Brown founded The Brown Piano Studio, which now attracts gifted piano students from throughout the North Texas area. Their award-winning piano studio offers many opportunities for performances, master classes, music theory, and music composition training along with numerous festivals and competitions. The couple has lived in Lewisville for more than 25 years, getting business by referral and reputation alone.

at the Juilliard School of Music in New York and won the prestigious Leventritt Competition
at the age of 23. The Brown Piano Studio recently received a special visit and performance from Han, who was also a professor at the University of North Texas, and one of Mi Won Brown's piano teachers.
About Mi Won Brown
Mi Won Brown is a member of the Carrollton Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association.
Mi Won Brown is a graduate of the University of North Texas School of Music, where she studied piano performance. She has also had the opportunity to perform a number of world premiers of contemporary music written for both piano and pedagogical (teaching) purposes. Her past piano teachers include concert pianists Tong Il Han, Dr. Pamela Mia Paul, Larry Walz, and Vladimir Viardo. Her award winning Lewisville piano studio has consistently produced some of the finest student performers and competition winners in North Texas.
Mrs. Brown has performed throughout the United States as a guest artist at numerous conferences, recitals, and workshops. Mi Won and her husband, Timothy Brown, who also teaches at their school, perform regularly as duo pianists at such venues as the Texas Music Teacher Association State Convention, the Washington State Music Teachers Association, and the Iowa Music Teachers Association.

FJH Music Company utilizes Mi Won as an artistic consultant and editor for many new piano publications. Most notably, she is also a contributor to the exciting new piano method “Succeeding At The Piano” by Dr. Helen Marlais. Mrs. Brown sees her piano teaching as an opportunity not only to make outstanding student performers at the piano, but also to use music as an amazing tool to build self-confidence in all aspects of her students' lives. Her gifts as a teacher are quite evident as she keeps in contact with her many former students that are now successful in so many walks of life including professions at the college level and beyond.
About Timothy Brown
Timothy Brown is an award winning composer and pianist with a Masters degree in piano performance from the University of North Texas. He also teaches music composition and music theory to the studio's students. Brown was the composer of "There are Stars Whose Radiance is Visible on Earth", a work commissioned by the Daniel Pearl Foundation, and performed in Lewisville by the Lewisville Lake Symphony and a 250-voice LISD Choir in 2010.
