Well, I've held onto these links probably too long, waiting for some time to write something. But it's been a busy week, so I'm just going to put them out here:

At the Lewisville High School Harmon Campus, students can enjoy a reasonably priced coffee at the "Bookstore Bistro" in their school library.

Farmer's Branch lost their appeal over their illegal rental ordinance in Federal Appeals court. The ordinance called for the town to check immigration status on all prospective apartment renters, even though the federal government has no provisions for municipalities to use immigration databases for that purpose. The people of Farmers Branch have now spent $4 million on this.

Lewisville Park Rangers awarded for their role in saving a life.

What the hell?

In the Lewisville Mayor's race, both candidates now have Facebook Pages, and if you judge by likes, they're in a much closer race than it will probably end up being:
- Dean Ueckert (40 likes)
- Winston Edmondson (38 likes)
Edmondson's page prominently features the Gadsden flag so that Tea Party members will identify. Ueckert says his campaign website will be live as soon as today.

In the LISD school board race for Place 1, candidates June Ehinger (7) and Tracee Ali (23) launched their Facebook pages. Kathy Duke (91) has had hers for some time now , as has Paige Shoven. (61)

A skate park in Plano is shutting down. I wonder if this will mean even more kids over at the Scion of Lewisville Skate Park?

When I heard about Gallagher's heart attack here in Lewisville, I was surprised to hear that he was here. Back in the days when he was popular, I've been to one of his shows, and enjoyed it, so I thought I might have gone if I'd heard about it. Supposedly, though Gallagher has taken on a bigoted and homophobic right-wing angle as he fades into obscurity.

The Paul Ryan plan for Medicare a lot like "Obamacare". Republican ideas are only bad when Democrats agree to them.
