You may have noticed that LTJ's website was down for a bit on September 10th. The outage was caused by network problems at GoDaddy that took down thousands of websites. GoDaddy has apologized and assured us that at no time was any information compromised.

A Keene police officer arrested a 77 year-old woman who refused to identify herself when asked during a traffic stop. I think she deserved to be arrested. The officer lost his cool, but he eventually would have had to take her under arrest, if a bit more calmly.
State Farm is seeking to raise homeowners insurance rates by 20%. The Tea Party types will wail and screech if your local government tries to raise your property taxes a penny or two to pay for fire and police, or educate your children. But when your state government lets shit like this slide through, well that's when you hear crickets chirping. You tell me which one of these will hit your house payment more.
Item 8 on the Flower Mound Town Council agenda for Monday night is a change to their Town Ordinance to allow residents to keep poultry in their yards. I hope Lewisville is next. We all need some yard hens out there eating bugs and providing us with fresh eggs.

Friday   11-2 Early Bird Sale for City of Lewisville Employees Saturday 10-5 Open to everyone Sunday 1-5 Open to everyone  The sale is in the community room and can be accessed through the children’s section of the library. FLPL raises money to support the Library in many ways, including purchases for the children’s library, etc.  Voters in Denton County to need to check their voter registration. We've had reports of people having messed up records with the wrong precinct. This is not the kind of thing you want to discover on election day, but our readers all do what we recommend and vote early, right? So it’s prudent that everyone check their information either via the Voter Registration Database Search or by calling Denton County Elections Administration at (940) 349-3200.  It would be terrible to go to vote only to discover you can’t because of an error in your voter registration record.
