Tuesday afternoon, Flower Mound Town Hall, a senior center, and a YMCA were evacuated after a bomb threat was issued via Twitter. A person saw the threat and contacted Flower Mound Police at approximately 1:09 p.m. Supposedly the tweet, (which we did not see) gave the location as being a car, and mentioned a time for detonation.
The buildings were evacuated as a precaution, and East-bound Cross Timbers Road was blocked off at Morriss. Fire department personnel staged at the CVS Pharmacy on the Northwest corner of that intersection.
By 2:18 p.m., police had determined the threat was a hoax, and arrested an 18 year old male resident of Flower Mound. The suspect is charged with making a terroristic threat, a Class A misdemeanor. If found guilty, he could receive a fine of up to $4,000 or up to a year in jail.
Town hall was opened back up by 2:30 p.m.
