A search for a 69 year old missing man Tuesday night ended in tragedy early Wednesday morning when his body was found in a wooded area in Central Park. Lewisville Police Captain Kevin Deaver said the man was found dead with an apparently self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Police had been searching for the man, who was believed to be suicidal, and found his vehicle Tuesday night at Central Park. Several officers searched the park on foot, and later brought in a helicopter from the Department of Public Safety to use thermal imaging to help locate the man. The DPS pilot did spot what appeared to be a body, and walked police via radio instructions to the spot on one of the wooded trails.
Deaver said that the gun was recovered, and that there were no signs of foul play, or any indication to believe that anyone else had been in danger. |
