Raymond Daniels filed Friday to run for Lewisville City Council, Place 5, the seat currently held by Mayor Pro Tem Rudy Durham. Daniels, 28, works as service manager for Daniels Air and Plumbing, Inc., a family owned environmental services company. Daniels has lived in Lewisville for 2 years, and became involved last year when the City Council was debating the non-smoking ordinance. The Council passed that ordinance. Daniels was opposed, but says he does not have an agenda to overturn it.
Daniels says he is very pro-business and pro-growth, and wants to ensure that Lewisville is watched over with its residents' best interests in mind. He believes that he can be instrumental in shaping the city’s 2025 Plan and will work to ensure that it provides positive long-term growth while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Daniels currently serves as Lewisville precinct 3019 chairman for the GOP, and has been involved in a number of local, statewide and national political campaigns.
Transparency and accountability in city leadership are two things Daniels thinks are important to Lewisville residents. Daniels believes that the public should be informed and has pledged to use social media to alert voters to every action the council undertakes. Daniels says he will detail how and why he voted on each issue so that the citizens of Lewisville will know not only what they are getting from their leaders, but also why.
Daniels says he is a strong supporter of term limits and fiscal responsibility.
