Raymond Daniels Files for Lewisville Council Place 5

Open in new windowOpen in new windowRaymond Daniels filed Friday to run for Lewisville City Council, Place 5, the seat currently held by Mayor Pro Tem Rudy Durham. Daniels, 28, works as service manager for Daniels Air and Plumbing, Inc., a family owned environmental services company. Daniels has lived in Lewisville for 2 years, and became involved last year when the City Council was debating the non-smoking ordinance. The Council passed that ordinance. Daniels was opposed, but says he does not have an agenda to overturn it.

Daniels says he is very pro-business and pro-growth, and wants to ensure that Lewisville is watched over with its residents' best interests in mind. He believes that he can be instrumental in shaping the city’s 2025 Plan and will work to ensure that it provides positive long-term growth while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Daniels currently serves as Lewisville precinct 3019 chairman for the GOP, and has been involved in a number of local, statewide and national political campaigns.

Transparency and accountability in city leadership are two things Daniels thinks are important to Lewisville residents. Daniels believes that the public should be informed and has pledged to use social media to alert voters to every action the council undertakes. Daniels says he will detail how and why he voted on each issue so that the citizens of Lewisville will know not only what they are getting from their leaders, but also why.

Daniels says he is a strong supporter of term limits and fiscal responsibility.

Mr. Daniels is a close associate of Gorena clone Steve Hill. Unless he has experienced a transformation from Tea Party loyalist to an advocacy of responsible municipal government, it's merely another grab by the TPers. I will be looking forward to his response to the question: Are you going to use the same obstructionist Tea Party agenda, or not? And; Are you in agreement with Mr. Gorena's "cure" for LISD? Mr. Gorena told me all of LISDs' problems could be solved by getting rid of all the children of illegal immigrants attending LISD schools.

What do you say, Mr. Daniels?

Mr. Durham has performed admirably and I hope he keeps his place.

Thank you for your questions, and I would be happy to respond!

I am a Precinct Chair in the Republican Party. Both of the people who you've mentioned are Precinct Chairs, and are involved with some of the same Republican Clubs that I'm involved with. However, I can assure you I'm running my own campaign, for my own reasons.

As far as your question on the Tea Party: I do not have an obstructionist Tea Party agenda. My agenda is my own. I wish to promote better economic growth, along with a long term plan for financial stability, to ensure that Lewisville will continue to thrive in the future.

In regards to your question regarding illegal immigration and education: I do not wish to keep any children from being able to attend school. Immigration matters are very complicated, and I don't believe policy should be set at the municipal level.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and I will be happy to respond. You can e-mail me at: DanielsForLewisville@gmail.com

Thank You,

Raymond Daniels

Thanks for jumping in there, Raymond. I think it's great to have a candidate jump in and answer questions directly and for the record.

Thank y'all both for your comments. I am always open to answer questions, and I think it's a responsibility for our elected leaders, at all levels, to interact with the public whenever possible.
