Ed note: This was obviously posted long before we learned of Spitzer's uh, hooker problems...
I'm a proud Texan, so it hurts me to have to admit that New York has a really good thing going. New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer seems at times to be the only government official who is not afraid to sink his sharp teeth into the asses of evildoers.
I just read this article about his latest crusade, which is to clamp down on purveyors of spy-ware and ad-ware programs.
Before that, he pummelled big tobacco, and showed up the toothless S.E.C. by kicking some ass on Wall Street.
Can we draft this guy to be President of the United States? Forget party politics for a minute - I really couldn't give a rats ass if our congress went a few years without passing a single new law. I like that here's a guy who will ENFORCE the law, even against rich people and big corporations. Usually in our country, fat cats get a walk when it comes to taking responsibility for their actions. Mr. Spitzer doesn't seem to afford these a-holes the same courtesy.
Someone please give me a petition, and I'll sign it.

Mr. Spitzer is running for Governor of New York, which I think would be a great stepping stone prior to running for President. You can read more about him and his campaign at his blog: http://www.spitzer2006.com/ |
