Poster: Anonymous Posted: 2011/12/10 4:03:25 I think of the current tea party, which has been totally co-opted from its original intent, as being like empty calories. People keep trying to swallow it not realizing it is neither satisfying nor beneficial. But they swallow it again hoping the next bite will somehow be better. It is a parody of its former self. And I am disgusted with how the tea party and many of the GOP have perverted the history of Ronald Reagan. To paraphrase the great Republican Texas Senator Lloyd Bentsen: I lived through Ronald Reagan. I remember Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was someone I admired. Tea party, you are NO Ronald Reagan. But you tea party folks won't remember Lloyd, either. Or if you claim you do, I bet it is yet another rewritten history. At least I can see I am not alone. I feel like the GOP has begun to lose its way, and doubled up by combining with the tea party. Tea party Reagan Republican. That's a good one. Should have made it tea party Reagan Kindle iPhone Polo BMW Republican. What the hell. The more labels the merrier I guess. |
