If James were to present his case for not banning smoking in restaurants and bars in Lewisville in an intelligent manner I would be glad to read it. However, since I am the one that previously posted about watching my dad die from the effects of cigarette smoking his arguments won't sway my stance. I am not for banning cigarettes totally because that didn't work for alcohol in the '20s but I am for saying where it is appropriate to smoke. For those that say they shouldn't be told where to smoke, I say that they are already told where they can and can't drink alcohol. You can't drink on school grounds, while driving, in the parking lot of a liquor store, etc. Certainly, these are good laws and they protect the public. Have your smokes if you must but don't do it where I eat out then the public is protected from your second hand smoke. |
