Poster: Anonymous Posted: 2012/8/1 20:10:27 Great article on gossip. I was the victim of hateful and untrue gossip from a neighbor that continually tried to bully me to get his way. He and his wife spread vicious rumors about me that even some of my closest friends listened to and passed on. I can't begin to tell you how much it hurts to sit at a coffee at someone's house knowing that half the people there had heard the gossip and didn't stand up for you. God bless a friend that finally very publicly stood up for me and told the man to stop. She detailed out good things I had done, good character traits that I had and said that I had been nothing but honorable in all of her dealings with me. She'll never know what she did for me that day! It probably seemed like a little thing to her but it made so much difference in my life. The other good thing that came from this trial was that I truly found out who my friends were. The ones that listened to the gossip and either repeated it or didn't stand up for me, they gradually became less important to me and I am no longer friends with them. The woman that stood up for me, she is still a good and trusted friend and always will be! |
