Open in new windowNational Weather Service Update: Rain chances look good for tomorrow as a strong upper level disturbance and cold front are expected to generate widespread activity over the region. There is still a threat for severe weather, but the atmosphere does not look as volatile as it is today. The primary severe weather threats are damaging winds and large hail. Storms will begin to form around midday and will likely develop into a line that affects most of North and Central Texas during the afternoon and evening.

Prediction of voter fraud

The Nimrods Never Cease to Amaze Me
Posted by WhosPlayin on 2006/6/6 10:43:45 (1005 reads)

Just my prediction here, but I get a strong feeling that the Republicans will try to Steal the CA 50 US rep election today. It's too close to call by polling, therefore, Republicans will use any means to turn away voters and stuff ballot boxes.

I hope I'm wrong.

Update - 6/7/06 - 8:10 am

With 90 percent of precincts reporting, Bilbray had 56,016 votes or 49.5 percent. Busby trailed with 51,202 votes or 45 percent.

Note that this is a district where conservatives outweigh liberals 3 to 2, and Republicans spent $4.5 million on the race, while Democrats spent only $2 million.

The major media outlets are not reporting any voting irregularities yet, and Busby's campaign has not yet conceded. Also no word on results of any exit polling.

Texas Senators and Congressmen Environmental Dunces

The Nimrods Never Cease to Amaze Me
Posted by WhosPlayin on 2006/6/2 18:40:20 (2774 reads)

This week, Sierra Club published its "Confidential" 2006 Congressional Scorecard, listing each Senator and Representative's key votes in each of five areas:

1. Energy: Senate R.C. 213/House RC 132
2. Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR): Senate R.C. 364, House R.C. 666
3. Environmental Funding: Senate R.C. 114/House R.C. 88
4. Coastal Protection: Senate R.C. 143/House R.C. 192
5. Fuel Economy: Senate R.C. 157/House R.C. 121

Our Texas delegation is an embarrassment to the state and their constituents. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R) and Senator John Cornyn (R) both received the worst rating - thumbs down on all 5 issues, meaning that they voted AGAINST the environment.

Of our Representatives, only two - Just two out of 32 representatives voted to protect the environment in all 5 votes: Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX 25) and Rep Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX 30).

15 of our Representatives, including Rep Michael Burgess (R-TX 26) of Flower Mound also received 5 thumbs down, voting in lock-step with the Bush agenda to undermine environmental protections to enrich themselves and their oil industry cronies.

Ironically, even Rep Tom Delay (R-TX 22) scored better than Burgess, Cornyn, or Hutchison due to his vote in favor of #4 - Coastal Protection.

Sierra Club's mission is to educate and protect the environment. Their report is not an endorsement of any candidate or party.

George W. Bush's Resume

My first instinct was to laugh, but then the truth of it all really set in. Scary that we have such an incompetent person occupying a position with such potential for leadership or destruction.

An Open Letter to Gary Tyner,

The Nimrods Never Cease to Amaze Me
Posted by mamask8z on 2006/5/31 15:56:04 (1576 reads)

Gary, I have to admit it, I'm frustrated. I have severe scheduling conflicts with the remainder of Pathology. This would not have happened if we had class last week. I ain't bitchin', I'm venting. I understand there were other problems going on last week - but I sure would like to get ahold of the nimrod that started all that and make them babysit for me so I can finish pathology. Of course, that could be considered cruel and unusual punishment. - But since I don't know the offenders, it may be punishment to my kids! Anyway...venting, not bitching.

All tongue-in-cheek joking aside, here's my problem. I won't be able to attend the remainder of pathology next week.

My life is a bit odder than others in that my husband travels to client sites and we have to coordinate our schedules around my schooling and his weeks out of town. All this worked well during the basic classes and other advanced classes since my boys were in school. And during the last week when they've been out of school and I was supposed to be finishing school, Steve, my husband's been home. If we did not have to miss a week, today would have been our last day and all would have been fine. (The way it's been planned for some time.) However, since we still have 3 days next week, I won't be able to attend. You know... Kids and no daycare. A month or more ago my husband and I agreed that next week would be good timing for one of his trips to his client's site in Long Island, NY. And now I have to drop until the next round of pathology later this summer. I am more than a little frustrated by this.

Out of respect for the art of writing, and the lack of effect cursing has when written, I abstain. However, I'm sure you can imagine the menagerie of colorful metaphors that jump to mind.

I am not happy about that since I don't take my studies lightly, and I have been planning to take the national certification exam since before I started at American Institute.

Please, as soon as confirmed, I need a listing of the dates for the various modalities for advanced classes listed on the website as starting July 17. I am anxious to sign-up for the re-do Pathology class I've already paid for.

Speaking of the next round of advanced classes, I thought they were going to be scheduled for night classes. What happened to that, or was it just another one of those crazed rumors?

Long Live the Chicks!

The Nimrods Never Cease to Amaze Me
Posted by mamask8z on 2006/5/23 22:56:50 (1568 reads)

I pledge allegiance, to The Dixie Chicks, heroines of the United States of America. And to the State of Texas, from which they came: one nation, under Love, in harmony with righteousness and justice for all.

I remember hearing about a time when John Lennon compared the popularity of The Beatles to God. I remember seeing black and white films of really pissed off people breaking and burning the vinyl records. As I understand, the off the cuff remark almost created career suicide. And truly, I belive that even the most simple of intelligent beings, after hearing the man's opinion, would have to recognize that there was in fact some truth in his statement.

"All We Need Is Love" (The Beatles)

Nearly three years ago, a very similar situation occurred to the Dixie Chicks. I'm sure you've already heard the story, but I'll summarize. While playing a concert in London, England, the lead singer of the group, Natalie Maines, spoke of her feeling of shame that the President is from her home state of Texas. She said this not out of dislike for the man George W. Bush, nor out of disrespect for the office of the President of the United States. I believe (again, I haven't had a sit-down with her on the matter) she said it to convey her disappointment with the invasion of Iraq and how she felt it was the wrong thing to do and that any self-respecting Texan should have been much more careful before turning to war. And therefore, her being from Texas, she understands what it means to be Texan and have True Texan Integrity. Something W. no longer possesses.

"More Love"; "Truth 2" (Dixie Chicks)
-One of my favorite phrases from any of the Chicks' songs is the first line from "Truth 2". It goes like this... "You don't like the sound of the truth coming from my mouth." RIGHTEOUS!!!

Natalie Maines, I thank God you're a Texan. I thank God that you are an American and speak your mind. I thank God that you are unapologetic for calling it as you see it. And Dear Love, you were right.

The charismatic, gentile governor from Texas that I voted for into presidency has changed. Or maybe he hasn't changed... maybe his facade has just crumbled. He's a dumbass warmonger puppet of Cheney and Rove, and he serves the almighty Oil Dollar and some ridiculous self-righteous pride or is that avengence for the attack on his Pa.

Whatever, George. No one trusts you anymore. No one wants you anymore. You're killing your party. You suck. Dude, you might as well take another vacation. No, no quiero usted. Usted es un burro.

Mrs. Laura Bush still has my respect. She deserves it, she has to put up with the nimrod that can't get "nuclear" correct on a much more intimate level. OY! No visuals there, please.

However,
Yea! Saddam's not in power anymore!
Boo! George is!

Back to my point about The Chicks...
To all the ign'rt, corn cob-stuck-up-your-ass disk jockeys/radio station owners who refuse to play REAL music (from The Chicks)and so called "patriot" country music lovers out there that are boycotting The Chicks... Up Yours. Your loss, dumbasses. Get your 2 week post-laundering, skid marked, crusted panties out of a wad. Life'll seem a lot brighter when you do (not to mention less painful and smelly) F'ing relax, y'all. I'm not sure you really understand what it is to be a patriot. Listen to me... diga me... Celebrate when ANYONE uses their right to freedom of speech.

But then again, the less of you igmoes there are out there supporting The Chicks, the better the odds are that I can get a good seat at the upcoming concert in Dallas. Yeah, yeah... y'all stay away.

Section 12, Row R, Seats 9 and 10 yeeee-haaaaahhhhh!

Rock on Natalie. Rock on Emily. Rock on Marty. You are heros.
