Webb Files for Flower Mound Council Seat; Incumbent Filidoro Yet to File

|   Flower Mound resident Bryan Webb, 54, has announced that he is running for Place 2 on Flower Mound's Town Council - the seat currently held by Mayor Pro Tem Al Filidoro, who has yet to file for re-election.
Webb, a credit risk manager for Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, has lived in Flower Mound for 6 years, and in Lewisville before that. Webb has been active in civic affairs for 15 years, serving on boards and commissions in both cities. Webb lives with his wife, Heather, and they have two daughters - both graduates of Flower Mound High School. Webb is a member of Flower Mound Rotary Club, and a Vice President of Flower Mound Summit Club. Webb ran unsuccessfully in 2010 against Councilman Steve Lyda.
Economic Development and Transparency are the two key issues that Webb hopes to address on Council. Webb thinks the Town has made it difficult for businesses to locate in Flower Mound, and that it has shifted the property tax burden to homeowners. Webb would like to encourage more commercial development. With regards to openness, Webb says the current Council agenda is controlled by a troika, making decisions without consensus. Webb promises more openness and respectful communication.
Incumbent Mayor Pro Tem Al Filidoro has served on the Council since 2007, and was re-elected in 2008. He was part of the "NFL" (Northern, Filidoro, Lyda) ticket that ran in 2010 on the platform of keeping natural gas development away from Flower Mound homes. As of February 19th, Filidoro had not yet filed the papers for re-election. Filidoro is an attorney practicing in Flower Mound. He also has taught law as an Associate Professor at the University of Phoenix.
Webb says he expects that Filidoro will file for re-election.
Flower Mound Councilman Tom Hayden and resident Alan Cloud have both filed for the Mayor's seat. No candidates have yet filed for Place 4, currently held by Steve Lyda.
